Sony LSPX-100E26J Review

Posted on 29 January 2016

Unbeknownst to many, Sony has been working on a unique project, which is an innovative product – a smart bulb. Not impressed yet? Well, it’s not a conventional LED light bulb; rather it includes a Bluetooth speaker! Other companies have previously designed products with a light and sound combo, but Sony has tried to set a new benchmark.

For the ones who love music, they can’t afford a sound system in every room and even if they can, it’s not a practical approach to have speakers all around the house. Sony looked deep into this matter and devised a plan to create a light bulb that plays music. This idea in itself is commendable! Although other companies have introduced such ideas in a different manner, Sony differs with the fact that their invention looks like a classic light bulb, which is quite fascinating.

The LED light bulb (Sony LSPX-100E26J) has a built-in Bluetooth speaker with standard Bluetooth communication method. The speaker is paired up with an app called SongPal via Bluetooth. It has a wide light distribution. The light bulb speaker is provided with a remote control, which includes settings for audio output to set the volume and to adjust the brightness of the light bulb as required.

Bottom line
This bulb lightens the mood of people more than its lighting effect does. It’s a cool thing to have at home. You may easily decorate your dining table with these cute little bulbs or have them mounted at different places all around the house.

Once you get hold of how you can use this innovative creation and understand its features properly, you will quite simply be able to stream music and listen to your favorite songs via the Sony LSPX Light Bulb.

All in all, it is a great gadget to have in terms of practicality and simplicity of usage.

Leica’s Slick New Waterproof Camera X-U

Posted on 22 January 2016

Leica is known for its costly products; however, this year it brought a sleek new water proof camera. So, that is good news for people who absolutely enjoy underwater photography and filming. Plus, the camera really makes it easy to, especially because of the fact that you don’t have to worry about handling the camera with care.

And the incredible thing about this camera is not that it is easy to use and highly durable, but the fact that it is cost-effective.
This fixed lens shooter is inexpensive as well as dustproof. The price range is less than $3000 so still you have to be pretty rich to buy one or have to be some kind of crazy. But at least it is cheaper than other waterproof “DSLRs” in the market.

The new X-U works fine 50 feet deep inside water and is constructed with shock resistant materials. It comes with a fixed 23mm focal length lens, which is an equivalent to 35mm due to the crop factor 1.5x.These are technical features. Though it has no 4k features, but it can capture sharp images and shoot high definition films with a 1080p resolution. It has a 6.5-megapixel APS-C sensor with f/ 1.7 aperture -good for low-light photography.

Co-Designed with Audi:
The body is made of aluminum and is protected with thermoplastic rubber. The flash is located on top of the lens barrel. Plus, there are other pretty handy options given as well and all are simple to get used to, so that camera is quite user-friendly.

Another incredible thing about the camera is the fact that it is made in collaboration with Audi designs. The 5inch display screen is protected by the cover for underwater programming. The shutter and aperture dials are located on the top for adjusting exposures.
For underwater photography or video making, you can easily switch between the two.

All in all, apart from its attractive and user-friendly features, the fact that Leica has decided to market this new product at less than it usually does, should not be taken for granted.

Toshiba Radius 12 Review

Posted on 21 January 2016

Toshiba is mostly known for producing the best home appliances, so when it comes to making laptops, the company has not been able to deliver the same results and their efforts have usually fallen short. However, with the new Toshiba Radius 12, things can be a little different. The laptop contains all the features you would primarily need like a Technicolor certified screen option, a light weight design, and a 350 hinge, but for its low price, Toshiba has had to compromise on lower screen resolution and low tech screen.

The Good
The Toshiba Radius 12 features a lightweight design, which makes it easier for you to carry around at work or at school. The keyboard is comfortable to use and has sufficient gaps, making typing easy and smooth. The laptop also features a greater amount of ports compared to its competitors so it is fairly easy for you to connect multiple devices at the same time.

The highlight of the laptop is the 4k Technicolor screen option, this allows you to view crisp and vibrant images, more than any other laptop you would find in the same price range.

The Bad
Unfortunately even with its 4k Technicolor Screen option, the battery life is worst class, which would not make it the most ideal laptop for people who are always on the go and need a laptop for daily use. In addition the overall design of the Toshiba Radius 12 is fairly simple compared to its rival machines. The touch pad can also be frustrating to use and does not offer much flexibility.

Bottom Line
Despite its low battery life, the Toshiba Radius 12 can still claim fast performance, offers a generous selection of ports and allows you to view high quality and vibrant images. This may be one of the best laptops made by Toshiba but unfortunately it is still far from the best compared to its rivals.

Sony STR-DN 1070 Review

Posted on 20 January 2016

As soon as Sony announced its latest STR-DN 1070, which came second in line consecutively after the first one that was introduced last year, Sony STR fans had quite a lot of expectations for something new and better coming their way this time; as the company is introducing a new audio functionality to their speakers.

This is supposed to be a multichannel receiver for home theaters, which can be used for surround sound or a separate unit. Admittedly, there is nothing special about the STR compared to its predecessor, the STR-DN 1060.

It has awesome built-in Wi-Fi connectivity, which offers a plus point; with a good number of different streaming options. It also offers 7.1 channels. The Spotify connect works well. It’s different and much faster than a typical Bluetooth audio style with its specially designed LDAC circuitry.

The coolest thing is its high resolution audio, which has its own variations. But predominantly, almost all the features are same as the STR-DN 1060, including its six HDMI inputs and equivalent wireless options that were previously available.

A closer look into STR-DN1070
Sony’s STR-DN1070 series does seem to be attracting a lot of consumer, but it is safe to that Sony does tend to lack a bit of innovation. For this new AV receiver to sell, they haven’t focused on enough exciting features for STR-DN 1050 or STR-DN 1060 fans to be utterly delighted.

Although it has all the amazing features that a good AV receiver should have, Sony seems to be lagging behind with the fact that their competitors are offering pretty much the same stuff at cheaper prices. For anyone who hasn’t already got any of Sony’s old AV receivers, they may have an inclination towards this product, as this maybe a new experience for them altogether.

Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Review

Posted on 18 January 2016

The Galaxy S6 is an attractive handset and it’s obviously the world’s first dual curved displays smartphone. The phone is not only crammed with fantastic features but looks fantastic too. So, take a closer look at Samsung Galaxy S6.

Look And Feel
The phone has sweeping sides with a rounded metal frame and it has a premium look to it. However, the rear is flat and it makes the handset feel wider than it actually is. The rear is a glossy glass which compromises the grip and also makes it a little heavy, which can get uncomfortable to hold for long periods of time. The phone is available in white, black, gold, and green. The exterior of the phone is definitely a magnet for smudges and fingerprints, which means the user has to clean it frequently.

The phone has a 5.1-inch screen with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and a 577 PPI. It’s powered by the Samsung Exynos 7420 processor and comes with 3GB RAM. The internal storage is 32GB, but it cannot be expanded with a microSD card, which can be an issue if you want to store heavy files on your phone. The back camera is 16 megapixels while the front camera is 5 megapixels.

The Good and the Bad
When it comes to looks, this phone gets ten out of ten. The QHD display highly complements the overall curvaceous design of the phone and the performance is pretty slick. The camera is also commendable and one can take stunning shots without any effort, which is great if you are in to the selfie craze.

However, all the good points of the Galaxy S6 are identical to the Galaxy Edge, which means Samsung certainly had difficulty being innovative with this phone. The lack of a microSD card slot is a huge turnoff and the battery life is poor as compared to other phones in this range.
