Jetman Uses His Body as Flight Controls

Posted on 22 May 2008

I know this clip is old, but I stumbled on it and it was too cool to pass up posting. This dude, Yves Rossy, created a wing he could wear on his back and strapped four small jet engines to it. I know the result sounds like something you’d see in the turn of the century silent films where the dude takes a header off a pier, but oh no. This guy actually flies. A real like jet-man. He uses only his body movements and position to steer himself. At first the clip sort of looks like a controlled free fall, but keep watching. The jet engines offer lift and he’s able to control where he’s going. Pretty damn cool.

NodorO: a Solution for Male Genital Odor

Posted on 16 January 2008

If you missed Howard Stern on the David Letterman show talking about Nodoro, then you’re in luck. Here’s the clip. I’m not sure the product qualifies as a gadget, but it’s too odd not to post. Almost unbelievable but I kid you not, this is a real product for what they claim is a real problem. According to NodorOâ„¢, Male Genital Odors (MGO) is a problem that affects approximately 33 million, mostly uncircumcised, American males. The solution: NodorOâ„¢, a topical cream with the active ingredient of Clotrimazole that is applied to the “smelly” area. There is a very funny (albeit, I assume serious) FAQ page with questions like, “Will NodorOâ„¢ remove odors around my scrotum area?” and “What happens if NodorOâ„¢ gets in contact with a woman’s genitals?”. All kidding aside, the product is FDA approved and judging by the customer testimonials work great if you have MGO!

Man Turns Blue After Using Odd Gadget

Posted on 20 December 2007

Do you remember when George drank that concoction from the medical healer and turned blue? I don’t know if that Seinfeld plot was based off of this guy, but this is one of the craziest stories I have heard. For the past 14 years, 57-year-old Paul Karason has slowly been turning blue after using some odd gadget to inject silver into water. Paul was using the water as a universal cure-all, but insists that the turning blue side effect is from him rubbing it on his skin and not from drinking it. I could not make this stuff up, and apparently neither could Larry David and Jerry Seinfeld.

LeBron James Etch A Sketch Portrait

Posted on 14 June 2007

You know you wish you could do this. Everybody that has ever played with an Etch-A-Sketch wishes they could really draw this way. I can’t even draw a damn box let alone a basketball. Watch this dude Etch A Sketch a picture of LeBron James in action.

Table Made of Silverware

Posted on 22 May 2007

Silverware Coffee Table by Toni Grilo

This table made completely out of recycled knives, forks and spoons has the potential to be the most agrivating object on earth. It’s created by artist Toni Grilo, and if you don’t have anything in the house to eat it will taught you to no end. Of course if your coffee table is made completely out of old Taco bell wrappers and hot sauce packets like mine, then, well, um, you’d be, ah, full.

Amazing Ping Pong Ball Bouncing Video

Posted on 23 April 2007

Clearly this dude has way to much time on his hands. I’m not doubting his skills, bouncing ping pong balls into cups is a talent, for reals. But take a look at the video and you’ll learn just how he got good at it. All of the furniture in his garage would seem to indicate that’s where he lives. And when you live in the garage at your parents house, bouncing ping pong balls into red cups is pretty much what you end up being good at.

Olympic Swim Stadium to be Covered in Bubble Wrap

Posted on 12 April 2007

Beijing Olympic Swim Stadium Renderings

From this artist rendering it looks like the Beijing Aquatic Stadium will be covered in bubble wrap. The ‘Watercube‘ will be home to the water sports at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China. In the additional pictures (after the jump) it appears that the bubble wrap isn’t just a façade, but the structure itself. Looks like big and squishy fun.
