USB Laser Guided Missile Launcher

Posted on 21 December 2006

rocket launcher

The ultimate desk accessory to fend off annoying co-workers. The Laser Guided Missile Launcher is USB powered and controlled through your desktop. Reportedly this is the same level of fire power that Sadam’s army had. Well, minus the computer of course. The thing just doesn’t shoot straight when you hook it up to a camel. Get it at ThinkGeek.com.

Flatpack Office

Flat Pack Office

Office unfolded

I’m sure most of you are familiar with ‘flatpack’ furniture. That’s the way your stuff is packaged and shipped from Ikea (before you rip it apart and discover you’re missing pieces). Extend that concept beyond the desk itself to what actually sits on your desk. That’s the flatpack office set from Spring. Known as a b.i.o. – or bendable interior object – it’s made of powder coated recycled aluminum and can be folded together in just a couple minutes.

Wooden Clock from Suck UK

Wooden Clock

It’s a clock made out of a block of wood. Pure simplicity. The numbers somehow float on the surface. Comes from Suck UK. Not sure how it would standup to the haymaker I throw every morning to turn my alarm off, but it looks cool as hell.

Water Fueled Torch – video powered by Metacafe

He’s also fueled his own car with the same methods and can travel hundreds of miles on only ounces of water. Seeing this kind of innovation really makes you wonder what in the hell automakers have been doing all these years.

Ice Cream Ball

LL Bean Ice Cream Maker

I would have never thought something that looked like one of those hampster balls would yield anything edible, but this Ice Cream Ball from L.L. Bean looks pretty cool. You add ice, rock salt and the proper ice cream ingredients, then roll and shake it for 20 minutes you end up with ice cream. Would have have thought.

Pak-Lite 9 Volt LED Flashlight

Posted on 08 October 2006

9V flashlight

Finally another use for the 9 volt battery aside from your smoke detector. The Pak-Lit LED flashlight attaches to the top of any 9V battery. It has two LED lights and a simple on/off switch. It’s also available in a number of colors – for both the lights and the plastic casing. Several modes featuring flashing lights or two different color LEDs appropriate for a lot of  applications. Core77 has a great design twist that we’ll hopefully see hit the retail market one day soon. It takes the product from being simply utilitarian to being a bit more of a design piece.
