Here’s a nice video review of my next vehicle. (Well, right after I sell some organs for a quarter mil). The ‘long bonnet’ 612 Scaglietti is actually a four seater Ferrari - if your passengers are the size of lawn gnomes. Watch closely during the factory tour and you’ll catch chef Jamie Oliver inspecting his vehicle on the assembly line.
Lots of good stuff coming out of the 2007 Detroit Autoshow. One that caught are eye is Ford’s Airstream concept car. Based on the classic airstream trailer it’s shiny and bulbous looking. There are no production plans thus far, but Ford says it has a plug-in hybrid hydrogen fuel-cell powerplant ready to power it.
The Ford Interceptor concept car is aimed at competing with the Chrysler 300. It looks pretty cool and is capable of running on E-85 ethanol. 400 horse 5.0 V8 should make for a quick ride.
The Ford GT is no more. Ford is discontinuing production of the GT, reportedly to help keep it a classic. And seeing as how I didn’t find out of these under my Christmas tree this year, I guess I’m screwed. Truly one bad ass car.
The Barrett Jackson auction catalog for 2007 just came out and this caught our gadget loving eye. It’s the CNN Hummer that was used by producers and photo journalists while embedded with the First Battalion, 7th Marines in Iraq in 2003. It was tricked out on the TV Series Overhaulin’ and now you can own it yourself. Just head to Scottsdale in January for Barrett Jackson and don’t forget your checkbox.
