Huawei Honor 6 Plus: Impressive Gadget With an Outdated Software

Posted on 26 October 2015

Behold the Honor 6 Plus, Huawei’s latest offering and an upgrade to last year’s Huawei Honor 6. The honor 6 Plus is an amazing phone with specs that impress, but disappoint where the software is concerned. Let’s take a closer look at the Huawei branded flagship phone:

Specs and Display
With a Quad Core 1.8 and 1.3 GHz processor (Octa-core processor) and 3GB of RAM, the Honor 6 Plus sure is a powerhouse. The guts powering the phone are great at heavy tasking; however, they do not match the performance of other flagships like the HTC M9. The display of the device measures in at 5.5-inch capacitive touchscreen.

The best thing about the screen is the 401 Pixels per inch density, coming in at a resolution of 1080×1920 pixels. That makes it a Full HD display and exactly the same resolution as the iPhone 6 Plus.

The internal storage varies among the 3G enabled model that boasts 16GB of storage space and the LTE enabled model that has both 16 and 32GB variants. If the storage is still not sufficient for your taste, don’t worry, you can expand the storage to up to 128 GB thanks to the included Micro SD card Slot.

The back of the device sports two 8MP cameras that gives your captures an interesting twist. The primary shooter captures the image, while the second camera gives the images depth and even focusing further after the shot.

You can shoot videos at Full HD 1080p resolution. The front camera, dubbed the selfie camera, is again an8 MP shooter.

There is nothing innovative in the design factor of the Honor 6 plus. In fact, it looks like an overlarge iPhone 4 with the front and black glass and the similar looks. The back has two cameras on the top left accompanied by a Dual Flash. However, the plastic panels on the sides deters the phone from feeling like a premium phone.

The only let down of the Huawei Honor 6 Plus is the old and outdated Android software running on the phone. Huawei has iterated their own version of Android that makes the software look clunky and even hinders the performance of the otherwise great phone.

If you can tolerate the lagging software and live without the Google Play, the Huawei Honor 6 is a beast of a phone you should definitely consider buying!

Marshall Headphones Major II: True Marshall Upgrade

Posted on 22 October 2015

Marshall may have made a good name in the amplifier sector, but they have made a name in the headphones market as well. The Marshall Major Headphones was a decent device, but it couldn’t stand among the great models. With the Marshall Headphones Major II however, things have improved significantly and with an overall better design and value for money, Marshall has made an impact on headphone lovers.
Unlike the previous model, Major II has a more rounded shape for the ear cup. The added flexibility to the overall design of the headphones also makes it a far more comfortable headphone to wear over the ears for extended period of time. They are not only comfortable but fit better on your head as well to give a generally better experience. The cord is now detachable, so keeping the headphones folded in a pouch is a tad easier with the cord out of the way.

Marshall has added a 3.5-mm jack on both headphones, so you can plug the cord in either one according to your liking. Better yet, you can plug in two cords and share the music with a friend as well. The overhaul in the design has also led to a more durable and sturdier design according to Marshall owing to the vinyl finish. So, it’s safe to say the build quality has improved significantly and the headphone may be able to stand the test of time.

Marshall Major II headphones have been enhanced to perform better and sound much superior to the original version. With improved bass and amplified details, you get clearer sound and clarity listening to your favorite music. Listeners can use the headphone with their Android and iOS devices as well owing to the remote and a button included on the cord. A microphone accompanies the remote as well, but the lack of volume controls can be a turn-off for some.

For a $100 headphone, Marshall Major II is impressive. The improved design and performance make it one of the better headphones in the price range!

Preview: Toshiba Protege Z20t

Posted on 19 October 2015

The all new Toshiba Portege Z20t is a great buy due to its amazing features. It seems that Toshiba has finally come up with a rather competitive product. Toshiba has made this as an advanced version of its Z10t model due to the design similarities. The Z20t model can be considered as a tablet attached with a keyboard, though added processing capabilities and a smoother design has allowed it to ‘stand out’ when compared with the device’s predecessors. Here is why the Toshiba Portege Z20t is special:

The Z20t comes with a new keyboard dock that is easy to use. Owing to this design feature you can easily use the tablet as a laptop. The screen can be angled back and forth, thus providing you flexibility when you use the device while lying down or sitting. You also have the added advantage of angling up the backside of the keyboard allowing for a more convenient typing experience. The tablet’s unique design allows it to be attached separately from the keys, this way you can use it as a stand. Moreover the device comes in graphite black metallic color.

Features and Specifications
The Z20t model has a bigger screen size and has a 12.5-incher display unit, full-HD IPS along with Wacom digitizer. The CPU unit is integrated with the Intel Core M 5th Generation M-5Y51 that does not depend on vents commonly placed on the back and weighs at 3.3 lbs. The processor is powered by 8GB RAM with the user having a choice of either going for the 128 GB or the 512 GB hard drive. The tablet’s outside portions consist of Micro-HDMI and Micro-USB ports, along with a microSD slot.

The keyboard’s dock is known for its excellent performance due to its full-size HDMI and RGB outputs, two USB 3.0 and Gigabit Ethernet ports. This also comes with its own battery, which combined with the tablet’s battery life can deliver more than 17 hours of operational capability.

The Toshiba Portege Z20t will make your life better. It has all the specifications that are demanded by todays users, who want nothing but speed and raw processing power. Though the product comes at a slightly hefty price tag, it is an excellent choice for you especially if you are a corporate business user.
