The battle for streaming devices is heating up. After Google Chromecast, Roku and Apple TV, Amazon is set to make an impact in the field with its Amazon Fire TV streaming stick. Priced a shade under $40, it gives you access to wide range of streaming apps for your television so you can enjoy content on the big screen. You get access to Netflix, YouTube, Hulu Plus and many more at this price, which makes it a great deal.

You will have to wait till January 15th, 2015, to get your hands on one of those Amazon Fire Sticks because they are out of stock at Amazon’s online store. The design of the device was made keeping the crowded TV back panels in mind so it can fit easily behind the TV. The stick requires a power source to operate. If your TV has a USB port, then it will make it easier for you to connect the Amazon Fire Stick otherwise the wire would be hanging behind your TV. It will take 45 seconds to boot, which can sometimes be quite annoying.

You will find it odd to see a microUSB cable on the side of Amazon Fire TV stick. There is a HDMI extender to connect the stick to the HDMI port of your TV. When it comes to hardware capabilities, the Amazon Fire Stick supports dual-band Wi-Fi, full HD 1080p output, and 8GB internal storage capacity. The remote included in the package is fantastic. It is easy to use and a novice can also use it easily.

Another important feature is that the remote uses Bluetooth technology instead of infrared because the device would be inserted at the back of your TV. You can also use voice search features by downloading the Android app called Fire TV Remote App, which is free. There are new features coming soon for Amazon Fire Stick once it is back in stock.
