Samsung Goes Cutting Edge With Curved Soundbar

Posted on 02 September 2014

Expect Samsung to raise the bar and they deliver every single time. There is no dearth of curved TVs on the market, Samsung being one of the pioneers of the technology. However, what was missing was a curved soundbar to go with the TVs. Well, that problem has now been solved by Samsung as it has come up with a unique design for its new soundbar, the HW-H7500. According to the company, the soundbar is the first ever that has been built keeping in mind the ‘curved form factor’.

So far, Samsung has not revealed any details about the product and there is no news of whether a prototype has been designed so far. However, with the IFA kicking off in Berlin in a few days, it is expected that the company is going to provide some details on their curved soundbar and when customers can expect it to hit the market.

The soundbar, as expected, is designed to work best with Samsung’s range of TVs. In particular, the company wants to facilitate customers who have purchased the large 55-inch and 65-inch TVs from Samsung’s range. The size of the soundbar itself is 42mm and it has a brushed aluminum finish, no surprise given the fact that Samsung went for the same wrapping for its flagship soundbars, the HT-ST7 and the HT-ST5.

The best thing about the soundbar is that you can enjoy up to 8.1 channels. This provides a better surround sound than 7.1 and 5.1 channels. Moreover, there are drivers on the soundbar that are side-mounted. This means you will be able to enjoy a ‘wider’ effect when it comes to the sound when you are watching a movie.

So far, there is no word about the price of the product. Samsung gets to be the trailblazer in this niche as there are no curved soundbars on the market as of yet, at least none from a major brand. So, the price they decide on will be viewed keenly.
