The New Blackberry Q5

Posted on 17 May 2013

Like Samsung, Nokia, Sony and Apple, Blackberry is yet another renowned brand for developing some successful series of smartphones. It has recently launched the new Q5 which is a first budgeted set of Blackberry. The new Q5 is just the latest version of Q10 with a physical QWERTY keyboard instead of that small and joined one.

Physical Appearance:
The first thing noteworthy of Q5 is its size which is significantly longer than the preceding version. This is considered much better than Q10 as the large bezel and stretched out keyboard is more convenient to use.

The body or frame is made up of plastic frame which users considered as nothing when compared it to Q10 and Blackberry Bold 9790. This might be the reason for its low price which is still unknown. This plastic body has probably been inspired from Blackberry Curve.

Specifications:

  • Unlike Q10 which has 1.5GHz dual core chip, this version is limited to only 1.2Ghz
  • 2 GB internal RAM with expandable memory up to 32 GB
  • Storage capacity is limited to 8 GB whereas the Q10 had 16 GB
  • Non removable battery
  • Wi-Fi
  • 3.1 inch 720 x 720 LCD screen

It is prominent with the launch of Q5; Blackberry is trying to take up the market share as that of Nokia Lumia 620. Blackberry Z and Q10 were introduced early in 2013 which gained popularity but not as much as compared to recent Sony, Nokia and Samsung’s smartphone launch.

Blackberry Q5 Is currently available in four distinct colors which are red, white, black and pink along with 4G LTE and HSPA+ system. After the success of Z and Q10 which are comparably expensive, Blackberry has focused more on the price rather than the functionality and specifications.

So keep yourself updated and users get ready for a shock when final price of Q5 will be announced.
