Acer’s New Liquid S1 Phablet

Posted on 31 May 2013

p>Besides Dell, Samsung and other famous companies, Acer is another prominent computer manufacturer that ventured into the worlds of laptops and other mobile devices. It has already introduced many laptops which are compact in size and are integrated with the all the latest operating system and hardware. The craze for android OS seems to be increasing from time to time and now almost all mobile and tablets are integrated with it. Therefore, it should come as no surprise that Acer came up with the idea to combine the features and looks of a smartphone with that of a tablet to introduce the all new S1 liquid Phablet.

This was originally a smartphone but the fancy name is given to it for attraction. It has recently been announced at Computex 2013 which was held in Taipei. The concept of a bigger screen is originally taken from Samsung Galaxy Note. However, this isn’t really the most original aspect as Acer and other companies are now focusing on larger screens. Still, there are a few features you should look out for, such as those mentioned below.

  • 1.5 GHz quad core processor
  • 1 GB RAM
  • 5.7 inch with HD display of 1,280 x 720 pixels
  • Android 4.2 Jellybean operating system
  • Dual camera with 8 mega pixel rear and 2 mega pixel front
  • 2,400 mAH removable battery
  • 8 GB internal storage expandable to 32 GB
  • Dual SIM
  • It has 3G connectivity feature but no 4G LTE

Functions and Features:
The latest Acer’s S1 Phablet has a function which gives it an advantage over its competitors. With it, you can perform several tasks at the same time. For example, you can operate your phonebook, calculator or any other app simultaneously just like you would while working on a computer. The gadget also has a float caller application which prevents users from getting interrupted during a call while allowing you to send a message later on.

The introductory price for the S1 phablet is suggested to be 350 Euros. It will be shipped later this year to Belgium, France, Russia, Ukraine, Netherlands, UK, Germany, Italy and Spain. Although Acer is most renowned for making laptops, it has taken a step forward into the world of IT and telecommunication with the launch of this Phablet.
